Ruthie Foster - New Album In-Store Signing & Performance

Ruthie Foster is coming to Waterloo Records & Video on Monday, August 31, for an in-store signing and performance. It's a small-scale way to catch her in person, and it's built around her new album, Just Say Yes.

Foster is a Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, and Just Say Yes marks her return to Sun Records. The record was produced by Tyler Bryant, who also co-wrote several of the tracks with her. One of those is "The Shakedown," and she also collaborated on the album with Rebecca Lovell of Larkin Poe. It's released through Sun Records.

Foster describes the album as capturing her perspective as a queer Black woman, and the sound blends rock, soul, and blues with the Texas roots she's known for. Hearing those styles come together in a live setting is a good way to get a feel for what she's doing on this one.

The signing and performance run from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Waterloo Records & Video, 1105 North Lamar Boulevard, in the Downtown/Old West Austin area. It's a single hour, so if you're planning to get a record signed, you'll want to be there early.
