Austin-based Americana artist Ruby Dice performs a live set at the historic Continental Club, blending country, rock and soul influences.
Ruby Dice plays The Continental Club on Monday, October 5, with doors opening at 9 PM and the show starting at 10 PM. It's a single-bill night, so she's the only act on the marquee.
Dice is an Austin-based Americana artist, bassist, and bandleader who originally hails from Gunnison, Colorado. She describes her sound as sitting at the crossroads of Americana, Texas country, Colorado red-dirt country, and contemporary folkāa mix that pulls from country, rock, and raw honesty. She's as much a part of the city's scene as a player as she is a frontwoman; she's a sought-after bassist and collaborator who has shared the stage with Brian Wilson and recorded her first release alongside members of Band of Heathens. She was also voted Best Bassist in Austin.
While she fronts her own band, she's still deeply embedded in the local scene. Right now, she's working on a collaborative album and a documentary project that features more than a dozen Austin artists, so this show comes at a time when she's actively pulling from the city's music community. The set will be her own band, with her leading from the front.
