A traditional Texas rodeo and full-blown family fair featuring ProRodeo events, livestock shows, carnival rides, food, and educational activities.
Rodeo Austin returns to the Travis County Expo Center from March 12 to 27, 2027. It's one of the top ten ProRodeos in the country, and it's a full-blown family affair. The whole thing started back in 1938 as a simple stock show with 16 animals, and it's grown into a massive fair that now hosts fifteen different livestock and horse shows. Much of that is built around Texas youth: the Junior Livestock Show brings in 4-H and FFA competitors, and equestrian events share the bill with the Avenue of Breeds.
Beyond the ProRodeo, the fairgrounds are packed with carnival games and rides, shopping, food, shows, and educational activities. There's Kidztown with a petting zoo for the younger ones. Each night, an award-winning artist takes the stage in the Luedecke Arena, followed by the 100X Dance Hall's exclusive after-hours honky-tonk. The program is rounded out by special events like the Gala, the Cowboy Breakfast, BBQ Austin, and the Kick Open the Chutes kickoff concert.
