Country and Americana concert by Rob Baird at Saxon Pub.
Rob Baird plays the Saxon Pub on Friday, October 16. It's a country and Americana set, and he's the only name on the bill.
Baird's a Memphis native who got his start sneaking into juke joints and picking up between-set gigs at local clubs. He landed a Nashville publishing deal before moving to Austin, where he spent the better part of a decade on the road. Since then, he's put out six studio albums on his own label and shared stages with Jason Isbell, Nathaniel Rateliff, and Billy Joe Shaver. His work has earned praise from Rolling Stone and The Wall Street Journal, and his songs have appeared in shows like Yellowstone and Nashville. He's racked up nearly 100 million streams across his catalog.
His latest album, Burning In The Stars, is described as his finestโa cinematic mix of alt-country intimacy and rock and roll. That's the record he's touring, and it sits right in the country-Americana wheelhouse he's been working in for years. If you've followed him from the early days, you'll recognize the voice; if you're just catching up, this is a good place to start.
