Rival Consoles, a London-based electronic music project, performs live at Brushy Street Commons as part of the Resound Presents series.
Rival Consoles plays Brushy Street Commons on Sunday, August 16. The show is presented by Resound as part of the Resound Presents series, and it's open to all ages.
For those who aren't already familiar, Rival Consoles is an electronic project based in London, England. The name is a bit of a misnomer — it's a solo act, not a band, and the music is built around the kind of electronic textures and rhythmic patterns that have become a hallmark of the project's work. It's the kind of set that works as well if you're there to really listen as it does if you're just in the mood to move.
Coming from London to Austin, this is a standalone date rather than a stop on a larger tour, so it's one of the few chances to catch them in the city this summer. The show is presented by Resound, and since it's all ages, you can bring whoever you want along. If you've only heard the recordings, seeing it live is the best way to get a sense of how the project actually comes together in a room.
