Live music performance by dreamcastmoe, a Washington DC artist known for R&B, funk, soul, jazz and hip-hop, supported by Boombaptist.
dreamcastmoe plays Radio/East on Saturday, September 19, with Boombaptist opening. The show is presented by Radio/East, and it's an all-ages night.
Dreamcastmoe is the project of Davon Bryant-Mason, a lifelong Washington DC resident who's been releasing underground music since 2017. He works as a singer, songwriter, producer, and DJ, and his sound moves across R&B, funk, soul, jazz, and hip-hop. He's not tied to one of those corners—the set can shift from a slow falsetto flow to swaggering talk-rap and full-on crooning, and he handles the production side of things too.
His list of influences is as wide as the music he makes. He cites the visual feel of NBA 2K and the comedic timing of Bernie Mac alongside the legacy of Duke Ellington, and he credits DC breakouts like Ankhlejohn. It's a mix that pulls from sports and comedy as much as from jazz and hip-hop, and that same range shows up in how he uses his voice.
