Concert by the Austin-based grunge and STP tribute band Wicked Vixxen at Come and Take It Live.
Wicked Vixxen are playing Come and Take It Live on Friday, August 14, under the title Radically Poetic. It's a local Austin show, and if you've spent any time around the city's music scene, the name might already ring a bell.
They're a grunge and Stone Temple Pilots tribute band, and they build their sets around 90s grunge classics. That's the core of what they do: taking the sound of the '90s alternative rock revolution and bringing it back to the stage. If you grew up with those records, you've got a pretty good idea of what to expect from the night.
The band is based right here in Austin, and they've been at it for more than 20 years. The members are seasoned veterans of the local circuit, and they've put in a lot of time playing across Texas and beyond. The lineup consists of Hillary on lead vocals, Lior on guitar and vocals, Robert on bass and vocals, and Steve on drums. With three of them contributing vocals, they've got the harmonies covered for those STP songs that rely on them.
