Concert by New Folk Award-winning songwriter Rachel Laven, blending Texas Folk and Americana styles.
Rachel Laven plays K&D House Concerts on Thursday, October 1, at 7 PM. It's a solo bill, so she's the only one on the program.
Laven is a New Folk Award-winning songwriter whose music blends Texas folk and Americana. She's known for a few specific things: smiling lyricism, electric vocals, and accomplished guitar work. If you're not familiar with her, that's a good starting point for what she brings to the stage.
She calls Nashville home these days, but her roots are deep in Texas—she was born and raised in San Antonio. That Texas folk influence is a big part of her sound, and it's something she's carried with her even after moving to Tennessee. Right now, she's in the middle of putting together a team to produce her third album, Hard Truths, so this show comes at a time when she's working toward new material.
