If you haven't come across them before, the band formed in Perth, Australia, in an old horse shed. Frontman Jack McEwan still talks about jam sessions that would run six hours or more, and they wrote their songs on an old, out-of-tune piano. They used to hook projectors up to their amps to beam warped imagery around the barn—a setup that drew enough noise complaints to eventually push them out of the shed and into a seaside home, where they still make music today. That barn-born, jam-heavy start is a good way to get a sense of where they come from.
