Psychedelic Cumbia Party w/ Los Desechos, Guira King & Fuego Santo

Los Desechos are leading a psychedelic cumbia party at Hotel Vegas & The Volstead Lounge on Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12. It's a two-night run, so if you can't make it one evening, you've got a second chance the next.

They aren't playing alone. Joining them across the two nights are Quimikoz, Fuego Santo, Combo Cósmico, and Guira King. That's five acts in total, with the cumbia theme tying the whole thing together. If you're familiar with the scene here, you know the drill: cumbia is the backbone, and the "psychedelic" part comes in with the textures and the way they stretch things out. With a lineup this size, the music should keep moving from one set to the next without much of a gap.

It's a 21+ event, so bring your ID. The party takes place at Hotel Vegas & The Volstead Lounge, right in the heart of the East Side. If you've been before, you know the spot—it's one of the main hubs for this kind of thing in Austin, and having two nights means you can either pick one or double down if you're really in the mood. Between Los Desechos, Quimikoz, Fuego Santo, Combo Cósmico, and Guira King, there's plenty of ground to cover over the course of the weekend.

Tickets are available through Do512. The party runs Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12, at Hotel Vegas & The Volstead Lounge, 21+.
