A slow-paced workshop blending ceramics with tattoo art, where participants apply transfer tattoos to pottery pieces under step-by-step guidance.
Pottery Workshop: Tatted Up! is happening at Spokesman - Highland on Sunday, July 19, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM. It's a morning session that blends ceramics with the bold aesthetic of tattoo art, and you don't need any prior experience to join in.
The main draw is the way the two styles come together. Instead of painting your piece by hand, you'll apply transfer 'tattoos' directly to a pottery piece, with step-by-step guidance to help you get it right. It's designed as a slow-paced session, so there's no rush to finish—you can take your time and focus on the process rather than worrying about the result. All the materials you'll need are provided, so you just have to show up.
One thing to keep in mind is that you won't be taking your piece home the same day. After the workshop, it's glazed and fired offsite, and will be ready for pickup in South Austin (78745) within two weeks. If you're not in the area or would rather not make the trip, shipping is available for an additional fee.
