Post-punk night featuring Paper Sister, Lost Control (a Joy Division coverband) and 80s karaoke.
Paper Sister headlines a post punk night at Hotel Vegas & The Volstead Lounge on Thursday, October 8. They're an Austin three-piece, and their sound pulls from a wide spread: post-punk, punk, 90s shoegaze, alternative, and Americana. They describe their influences as Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Savages, St. Vincent, Smashing Pumpkins, The Cramps, The Misfits, and PJ Harvey, so the set should run through a fair bit of ground.
They aren't the only act on the bill. Lost Control, a Joy Division cover band, will also play, and the night keeps going with 80s karaoke. Between the three, it's a full run of post-punk and new wave from the start of the evening through the late hours.

The show runs from 8 PM to 1:30 AM, so there's plenty of room to catch the bands and then hang around for the karaoke. Entry is $5 and it's 21+.
