A glass fusing workshop where participants create a mini 3-inch by 3.5-inch portrait of their pet using sheet glass, frit, and glass paint.
Studio Tak Tak is hosting a glass-fusing workshop at Meanwhile Brewing Company on Thursday, September 17, where you'll make a mini portrait of your pet. The session runs from 5 PM to 6:30 PM, and the finished piece is a 3" x 3.5" glass portrait. All materials are included, and no prior experience is necessary, so you don't need to be an artist to walk in and come out with something you're proud of.
During the 90 minutes, you'll learn how to safely cut and assemble sheet glass, and how to add details using animal-coat-color glass, frit, and glass paint. The studio asks for a photo of your pet beforehand to make sure they have the right colors on hand for your specific animal. Once you've put your portrait together, the kiln-firing is handled for you. You'll pick up the finished piece two to three weeks after the workshop, with shipping available for an extra fee if you can't make it back to the brewery.
