A vibrant community celebration of Persian culture featuring live music, dance, traditional food, art and family-friendly activities.
Mehregan, the Persian fall festival, returns to Austin on Sunday, October 25, at the Asian American Resource Center - City of Austin on Cameron Road. It's presented by the Austin Iranian Professionals Association (AIPA), and this year marks the celebration's seventh in the city.
Mehregan is one of the oldest Persian festivals, and its name comes from Mehr, the spirit of love, friendship, kindness, gratitude, and unity. The AIPA brings that heritage to the wider community through live music, dance, and cultural performances, along with traditional Persian food and sweets. There's also art, local vendors, and family-friendly activities, so it's a full afternoon rather than just one thing to see. The whole thing is built as a vibrant, inclusive gathering that opens up Persian culture to anyone who wants to drop in.
