Patricia Vonne performs two songs with the house band during the Austin Sounds segment at the 20th anniversary Austin Bat Fest.
Patricia Vonne plays the Congress Avenue Bridge on Saturday, September 5, as part of the 20th anniversary of Austin Bat Fest. It's a short set β two songs with the house band during the Austin Sounds showcase β but it's part of a full day of music on the bridge.
Bat Fest is one of the city's last long-running street festivals, and this year marks two decades. The day stages live music alongside the annual emergence of nearly 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats from under the bridge, one of Austin's most recognizable natural spectacles. Roadway Events produces the festival, with the Austin Sounds showcase presented by EQ Austin and Eastern Soul Productions. The local artist showcases are partially supported by the City of Austin's AACME Elevate grant.
Beyond Vonne, the day brings together a wide range of acts. Sheck Wes, Wild Child, Ben Kweller, and Nagavalli are on the bill, and the Austin Sounds showcase features MΓ©lat, Curtis Lee, J Soulja, Elijah Delgado, Eddie Angel, Sertified + Evita, Jelly Ellington, Tomar Williams, and Blackhyl. Michelle Brooke and her band open the day. It's a long lineup, so you can pick your favorite spots and work your way through.
