Live performance by the Patrice Pike Band at The Saxon Pub in Austin.
Patrice Pike Band plays The Saxon Pub on Thursday, March 12, from 8 PM to 8:40 PM. It's a short set, so you'll want to be there on time if you're coming for the whole thing.
Patrice Pike is a familiar name around town. She was the frontwoman of the Austin jam band Little Sister, also known as Sister Seven, which put out several studio albums, including This the Trip—the track "Know What You Mean" from that record made the Billboard charts. In 2020, she released Heart Is A Compass with her long-time collaborator Wayne Sutton, under the name Pike and Sutton. The tour for that one got cut short by the pandemic, so this is a good chance to catch her back on a local stage.
She's played with a long list of names over the years, including Blues Traveler, Sarah MacLachlan, Allman Brothers, Dave Matthews, John Fogerty, and Sinead O'Connor. Her songs tend to go after the hard stuff—poverty, gun control, and different kinds of tragedy—but she keeps the music rooted in hope and compassion. She sings and plays guitar, and she brings in deep grooves with percussion.

There's new music on the way, too. She's currently working with Hunter Hendrickson and John Bush of Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians, with the new material due in 2026. This show falls right into that window, so it's a good time to see where she's at. The set runs from 8 PM to 8:40 PM at The Saxon Pub.
