Honky tonk and alt-country music festival featuring Pat Reedy, The Deslondes, Rattlesnake Milk and other acts at Star Hill Ranch.
Pat Reedy is playing Star Hill Ranch on Saturday, November 14, as part of the Honky Tonk Fest. He's a Nashville-based independent songwriter working in honky tonk and alt-country, and he describes his own sound as blue-collar storytelling with a traditional twang. If you're into that sort of thing, he's one of the main draws on a day that's built around it.
He's not the only one on the bill. The lineup includes Rattlesnake Milk, The Deslondes, and Summer Dean, along with Honky Tonkin' In Queens, Hannah Juanita, Kristina Murray, Hayden Butler, Kathryn Legendre, and the Sentimental Family Band. The music spreads across three stages—the Lone Star Beer stage, the Outdoorsy stage, and the Tecovas chapel—so you can drift between sets throughout the day.
Star Hill Ranch itself is a bit of a destination, located near Bee Cave just outside Austin. It's set up like an old-town Main Street, with a century-old house, a chapel, and other buildings on the grounds—people often compare it to Willie Nelson's Luck, TX, which is a few miles down the road. Between the music, there are two-step lessons on wood floors, Western fashion, local makers, art, and food. Children under 8 get in free with an adult.
