An open studio event where visitors can view and purchase works by artists Elena Lipkowski and Dolphin Brown as part of Austin's Second Saturday.
Elena Lipkowski and Dolphin Brown are opening their shared studio at Art Hub ATX on Saturday, August 8, from 1 PM to 6 PM. It's part of Austin's Second Saturday, the citywide event that opens working studios to the public, so you can step inside and see how they actually work rather than just seeing the finished pieces on a wall.
Lipkowski works in layered mixed-media, combining digital collage with hand embroidery, beads, crystals, and lenticular and acrylic print processes. It's the kind of work that rewards close and sustained looking—the more time you spend with it, the more you notice. Brown works with moving images, composing source footage of water, light, and natural forms into limited-edition video paintings and immersive works that unfold through color, motion, sound, and spatial placement.
Since they share a studio, you'll see both their practices side by side. You can look at new and available work in person and talk directly with them about their materials and process. If something catches your eye, you can buy it on the spot or talk through commissions for a home, office, or design project.
