A nonpartisan, family-friendly event bringing neighbours together to plan an early vote, with costumes encouraged.
No Kings is hosting Don't Ghost The Vote at the First Unitarian Universalist Church on Saturday, October 17, from 2 PM to 5 PM. It's a nonpartisan event designed to bring neighbors together to make plans to vote early, rather than a protest. The whole afternoon is built around the idea that no single person decides our leadersβthe voters do.
If you're not familiar with the group, No Kings grew out of the conviction that power shouldn't belong to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they're above the people and the law. While their previous actions have leaned more toward protest, this Vote Early series is framed differently: it's a day of nonpartisan voter participation. The goal is simply to get people in a room together to figure out when and how they're going to cast their ballots early.
A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action and lawful conduct. The day is family-friendly and strictly nonpartisan, with no candidate endorsements or campaign activities. They also encourage costumes, so you can come as yourself or as something else entirely.
