Book signing and talk by author Neal Stephenson for his novel D: Heavy Water at BookPeople.
Neal Stephenson is coming to BookPeople on Tuesday, October 20, for a talk and signing around his new book, D: Heavy Water. The event is on the second floor of the bookstore at 603 North Lamar Boulevard, and it runs from 7 PM to about 8 PM, with check-in starting at 6:30 PM.
D: Heavy Water is the second installment in Stephenson's Bomb Light series. It's set on the eve of World War II, when nations were racing to control a substance critical to building atomic weapons. If you've read the first one, this is the next chapter in that story; if you're just starting the series, it's a good place to jump in.
For those who don't know him, Stephenson is a #1 New York Times bestselling author with a long list of novels behind him: Cryptonomicon, Snow Crash, The Diamond Age, Seveneves, Reamde, Anathem, and Quicksilver. He's also written nonfiction, In the Beginning . . . Was the Command Line. He lives in Seattle, Washington.

Tickets are sold only through Eventbrite, and each one includes a pre-signed copy of the book, which Stephenson personalizes after the talk. Seating is first-come, first-served, and there's no livestream or recording of the event, so if you want to hear him talk about the new book, you'll need to be there in person. Check-in starts at 6:30 PM, and the talk itself runs from 7 PM to about 8 PM.
