Noise-rock band mr.phylzzz performs live at Crow Bar as part of their The Killer Set Tour.
mr.phylzzz play Crow Bar on Monday, September 21, as part of their The Killer Set Tour. It's a single-act bill, so they're the only ones on the program.
If you haven't come across them yet, the name is pronounced mr. flyzzz. They're a noise-rock duo from Chicago, formed back in late 2015. Over the years, their sound has shifted into a heavy wall of sound built around hooky riffs and melodic vocals. They work across noise, trash rock, and noise rock, and they've spent the last decade moving between those styles.
In 2019, they were picked up by Amphetamine Reptile Records, the long-running label known for its noise and heavy rock roster. That same year, they appeared on the Dope Guns n Fucking In the Streets Vol 14 compilation and released their full-length album, Penitent Curtis. The duo consists of Clinton Jacob and Danny Sein, and the Austin date is one stop on The Killer Set Tour they're currently running.
