Movie in the Park

Movie in the Park comes to Springwoods Neighborhood Park on Thursday, October 29, from 5 PM to 9 PM. It's a free outdoor screening, part of the Movies in the Park series presented by the Austin Parks Foundation in partnership with Rocket Cinema.

If you've been around the city for a while, you probably know the series. For more than a decade, it's been bringing a night at the movies to neighborhood parks across Austin, and this one is no different. The whole evening is built around a family-friendly bill, so it's as much about the lead-up as it is about the movie itself. Before the film starts, there's a costume contest, and they hand out free popcorn from Cornucopia and popsicles from Goodpop while supplies last. It's the kind of setup that makes it easy to show up early and hang out before the main event.

As for the timing, the evening runs from 5 PM to 9 PM, with the film starting around 7 PM. That gives you plenty of room to get settled, grab some snacks, and watch the costume contest before the movie kicks off. Since it's a free outdoor screening, you'll want to bring your own blankets or chairs to get comfortable on the grass.

It's all happening at Springwoods Neighborhood Park in Austin on Thursday, October 29, from 5 PM to 9 PM, with the film starting around 7 PM. Admission is free.
