A family-friendly cultural celebration of Diwali with performances, art, storytelling, music, and food at Waterloo Park.
Morning Glories: Diwali is coming to the Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park on Saturday, November 7, from 9 AM to 12 PM. It's part of the Morning Glories childhood education series that Waterloo Greenway brings back to the park every year, and this edition centers on Diwali, the Festival of Lights.
If you've been around the park on a Saturday morning before, you know the general vibe: it's a family-friendly setup with hands-on activities for kids. The series is built around literacy, bilingual storytelling, music, dance, cultural exploration, and nature play. For this particular morning, that all revolves around Diwali, a colorful traditional holiday. The celebration turns the festival into a morning of cultural performances, storytelling, music, hands-on art, and food and drink, with space to learn more about the traditions and the meaning behind the holiday.
It's the kind of thing that works well for a family outing on a weekend morning—performances to watch, art to make, and food to eat, all in one spot. The series is supported by community-minded sponsors, including H-E-B Tournament of Champions, Delta Air Lines, and Waterloo Sparkling Water.
