Country music concert featuring Monte Warden and The Wagoneers at the historic Broken Spoke venue.
Monte Warden and The Wagoneers play Broken Spoke on Friday, August 28, starting at 9 PM. The bill lists them as The Wagoneers with Monte Warden.
If you've never been, Broken Spoke is one of the city's oldest country spots, opened in 1964 by James M. White. It's a live music venue that serves homestyle meals—the chicken fried steak is the one everyone talks about—and hosts live country music Tuesday through Saturday. They also run two-step dance lessons led by instructor Terri White, so there's a dance floor ready to go.

On the night of the show, dinner and music run from 6 to 8 PM in the restaurant with no cover, which is a good way to get some food in before the main set kicks off later. The music itself starts at 9 PM. Admission is $15 for adults, $20 for under 21, and free for first responders. The venue is at 3201 S. Lamar Blvd, Austin, Texas 78704.
