Indie folk band Montclair performs as the support act for Sarah and the Sundays at the historic Antone's Nightclub in Austin.
Montclair are playing Antone's on Friday, August 21, as part of a double bill with Sarah and the Sundays. It's a night of indie folk in one of Austin's oldest rooms, and the two bands share the bill rather than one opening for the other.
If you haven't caught Montclair live yet, they're an indie folk outfit that's been making its way through Texas. People who've seen them talk about the energy they bring to the stage, and they've played dates in Dallas before this one. That folk label fits the sound, but the live side of things is where the energy comes in—the kind of show that works as well if you're standing right up front as it does if you're leaning back with a drink.
Sarah and the Sundays are on the bill too, so you'll get two sets in one night. Both bands lean into that indie folk territory, so the evening stays in one general neighborhood rather than jumping between wildly different styles. If you're into that sound, it's a good way to see two acts in a single sitting.
