Guided, educational tasting of Mezcal Amaras with brand representative Beth Brooks at Seven Grand, presented by Spirit Society ATX.
Mezcal Amaras is taking over Seven Grand Whiskey Bar on Monday, August 10, for a guided tasting led by brand representative Beth Brooks. It's part of the Spirit Society ATX series, which brings rum, whiskey, and agave tastings under one roof at Seven Grand, Las Perlas Mezcaleria, and Cana Rum Bar. The sessions run across the spirits board, with interactive guides for newcomers on how to drink intelligently and chances to meet master distillers, master blenders, and brand ambassadors.
If you're not already familiar, Mezcal Amaras—known as Mezcal Amores outside the U.S.—builds its identity around terroir and the ecosystem. They've set a goal of planting ten agave for every one they harvest, and as of 2017, they had more than 145,000 agave in their nurseries. The brand promotes horizontal growth across several producers and offers micro-loans to mezcaleros looking to upgrade their equipment. Brooks will be there to walk you through the brand's approach and the mezcal itself.
