Matinee: Boo85, Zoë Pete Ford (NYC)

Boo85 and Zoë Pete Ford play a matinee at Hotel Vegas & The Volstead Lounge on Thursday, October 22. It's a double bill that starts in the late afternoon, so you'll be out and done well before the usual late-night Austin crowd takes over.

Zoë Pete Ford is coming in from New York, and they're the first of the two to take the stage. Their set starts at 6 PM, which gives you plenty of time to settle in and grab a drink before they kick off. After that, Boo85 takes over at 7 PM. Since it's a matinee, the whole thing fits into a single evening: doors open at 5 PM, and the music runs through the early part of the night.

Hotel Vegas & The Volstead Lounge is at 1502 E 6th St, right in the thick of the East Side. If you're coming from across town, it's a good idea to leave a little early—parking around 6th Street on a Thursday can be its own kind of adventure. The venue is 21+, so keep your ID handy when you walk in.

Tickets are $5, which is about as cheap as a show gets in this city. With doors opening at 5 PM, Zoë Pete Ford starting at 6 PM, and Boo85 following at 7 PM, you can catch both acts and still be home for a late dinner.
