The Highball is hosting a Marvel Multiverse RPG session on Saturday, August 1, from 2 PM to 6 PM, as part of their Roleplaying Games collection. It's a one-shot, meaning it's a self-contained story that starts and ends in a single afternoon, so you don't need to have played before to jump in.
The premise is straightforward: you play as a member of the Spider-Man family trying to escape The Collector. You'll be using the All-New, All-Different d616 system that powers the Marvel Multiverse RPG, which was designed by award-winning game designer Matt Forbeck. The session is a Timestream Adventure, and it features an alternate hero set from the Spider-Verse Expansion, so you're playing with versions of these characters you might not recognize from the comics.
Professional Narrators run the table, which is the best part if you're new to the hobby. They handle the rules and the storytelling, so you can just focus on what your character does. The afternoon kicks off with a 30-minute introduction to get everyone on the same page, and then the adventure itself runs for about three to four hours. Your ticket comes with a condensed ruleset, a dozen pre-generated characters from the Spider-Man family to choose from, and the tokens and dice you'll need to play. You don't have to bring your own gear or spend hours building a character before you arrive.

Doors open at 1:30 PM at The Highball, 1120 South Lamar Boulevard, and the whole thing wraps by 6 PM. One thing to keep in mind: this is a 21-and-over event, so make sure you've got your ID on you.
