Marian Hill, the R&B and hip-hop duo, perform live at the iconic Antone's Nightclub in Austin as part of their Act Two: The Tour.
Marian Hill play Antone's on Saturday, February 20, 2027. The duo consists of production artist Jeremy Lloyd and vocalist Samantha Gongol, who have been collaborating since high school in Philadelphia. They've built their sound by flipping the usual stage dynamic on its head: a woman on a mic paired with a man behind a laptop, blending blues and bass with the acoustic and the digital. Their name comes from Marian Paroo and Harold Hill, two characters from the musical The Music Man.
Two years before their breakthrough, they wrote and recorded "Whisky" over spring break in Lloyd's parents' basement. They released it for free on SoundCloud that summer, and it led to a bedroom-recorded debut EP, millions of plays, sold-out shows across the country, and high-profile commercial features. They signed to Republic Records in early 2015, released the Sway EP, and followed with their debut album Act One, a concept record in which each song inhabits a specific relationship.
