Special Event: Maria Bamford Special Taping

If you're not familiar, Bamford is known for deeply personal, experimental comedy about mental illness—a subject she also wrote about in her New York Times bestselling memoir, Sure, I'll Join Your Cult. She's the star of four hour-long stand-up specials: Local Act, Weakness is the Brand, Old Baby, and Maria Bamford: the special, special, special!. She also created and starred in the surreal, semi-autobiographical Netflix series Lady Dynamite, which follows a comedian suffering a nervous breakdown. She was the first female comic to have two half-hour Comedy Central Presents specials, starred alongside Patton Oswalt, Zach Galifianakis, and Brian Posehn in The Comedians of Comedy, and created and starred in the cult web series The Maria Bamford Show, where she plays all the characters herself.

Beyond the stage, her voiceover work is everywhere.
