Ludicrous Speed Book Club is meeting at BookPeople on Monday, October 19, to talk about The Gunslinger. It's the first book in Stephen King's Dark Tower series, so it's a good place to start if you've never stepped foot in that world before. The story follows Roland Deschain of Gilead, a gunslinger on a quest through a desolate, decaying version of the West, and the meeting is built around discussing what happens in those pages.
If you've already read it, you know the book sets the stage for the rest of the series, and if you're coming in fresh, it's the one that introduces the world and the character. The whole point of the club is to get a group together and talk through it, so whether you've got a strong take or just want to hear what other people made of it, that's what the night is for.
