Los Arcos Hermanos Peña perform a one-night fundraiser dance for Rancho Alegre at the VFW in north Austin.
Los Arcos Hermanos Peña play a one-night fundraiser dance for Rancho Alegre on Saturday, September 5, at VFW Post 8787 Capital City Post. The band comes in from Dimmitt, Texas, brought to Austin by Rancho Alegre for a single performance to benefit the organization and its future projects.
If you're not familiar with Rancho Alegre, they're best known for the Rancho Alegre Conjunto Music Festival, one of Austin's few Latine music events and the longest at three days, which brings in conjunto talent from across Texas. The 2026 edition was the festival's eleventh, running from July 10 to 12 at the historic Doris Miller Auditorium on the East Side. That year's festival honored Austin icons Augustin Ramirez, Joe's Bakery, and Leonard & Toni Davila.
Beyond the festival, the organization keeps a steady presence in the city's conjunto scene. They run a Senior Conjunto Dance Series at Kyle Area Senior Zone, put out records through Rancho Alegre Records, and produce a podcast. Their work has received support from the Texas Commission on the Arts and an Elevate Grant from Austin Arts, Culture, Music and Entertainment.
