Austin-based trio Lorena performs an outdoor house concert blending folk-rock, Americana and Texas soul in a relaxed, BYO-chair setting.
Lorena plays Peggy's Porch Party on Sunday, September 27, for an outdoor house concert at a private residence in Austin. It's a trio—Mikaela Burchill, Jordan Burchill and Austin Davidson—and they've built their sound around three-part harmonies, intricate guitar work and songwriting rooted in folk-rock, Americana and Texas soul.
They formed organically through a series of songwriting sessions and draw from a deep well of Texas songwriting: Townes Van Zandt, Willie Nelson and Guy Clark are high on the list, alongside Kacey Musgraves and Muscadine Bloodline. Their debut single, Fool's Gold, got its first real attention through Sofar Sounds performances, a residency at Geraldine's inside Hotel Van Zandt and a string of dates across the Austin scene. That work earned them a spot as Newsong Music Finalists in 2023 and Kerrville New Folk Finalists in 2021 and 2022.
Since this is a house concert, there are a few things to keep in mind before you head out. It's an outdoor show at a private home, so you'll want to bring your own chair or blanket to sit on. You're also welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks. There's no ticket price listed for the music itself—instead, the band takes tips in cash or via Venmo. One thing to leave at home: pets aren't allowed.

Doors open at 2 PM and the music starts at 2:30 PM, so you've got a good window to get settled in before they start. The show runs until 5 PM. You'll find them at 2602 De Soto Dr, Austin, TX 78733.
