Live music night featuring Long Haired Greek, Lily Dabbs, and O'Beau Martin at the historic Hole in the Wall venue.
Long Haired Greek, Lily Dabbs, and O'Beau Martin play Hole in the Wall on Monday, August 10. It's a three-act bill, with each taking a turn on the stage throughout the night.
If you've never spent much time there, Hole in the Wall is a bit of a landmark on the UT campus. It opened in 1974 as an early folkie hangout and a favorite stage for Townes Van Zandt, Nanci Griffith, and Blaze Foley. Over the years it shifted gears, becoming a breeding ground for punk, cosmic country, and alternative, launching the careers of Timbuk3, Fastball, Spoon, and Shakey Graves. It's a historic two-stage dive with a collective capacity of a couple hundred, and it still stages live music every night. It's served as a proving ground for new bands for decades; it briefly shuttered in 2002 and came dangerously close to being priced out in 2015, but it's still holding on.
