Opening reception for Summer Exposure Session 5, a group exhibition showcasing local artists Yazz Fawaz, Adrienne Hodge and Betsy Murphy at Link & Pin.
Link & Pin is hosting the opening reception for Summer Exposure Session 5 on Saturday, August 8, from 5 to 7 PM. It's part of their Summer Exposure series, which brings in local artists for two-week group exhibitions throughout the summer. This particular session runs from August 7 through August 16, so the opening is right at the start.
Three artists share the walls this time: Yazz Fawaz, Adrienne Hodge, and Betsy Murphy. Fawaz works with bold colors and textured brushstrokes to explore womanhood, self-discovery, nature, and belonging, building her surfaces from acrylic, wood, and organic matter—the kind of work that practically asks you to lean in and touch it. Hodge is a multimedia artist and art educator who works primarily in calligraphy ink, focusing on the incandescent quality of life events, imagined landscapes, asemic writing, and dreams. Murphy's work centers on biophilia—the idea that humans have an intuitive need to connect with nature—and she deconstructs the landscape through line, shape, pattern, rhythm, and color.

If you can't make the opening, the show stays up through August 16, and the gallery is open Friday through Sunday from 1 to 5 PM. There's also an artist talk on Sunday, August 16, at 3 PM, which is a good chance to hear from the artists themselves before the session closes. The reception is Saturday, August 8, from 5 to 7 PM at Link & Pin.
