Leon Bridges Record Signing

Leon Bridges is coming to Waterloo Records on Tuesday, September 29, to sign copies of his fifth studio album, Happiness Anytime. He'll be at the store starting at 5:30 PM, and the signing is limited to CDs and LPs only.

If you've followed him for a while, you know the Texas-born singer-songwriter for his soulful vocals and for songs like "Coming Home" and "River." Happiness Anytime is his fifth studio album, and it's a collaborative effort with J. Lloyd and Lydia Kitto of Jungle. Bridges focused on feeling, storytelling, and his vocal performance, while Kitto brought melodic intuition and harmonic detail, and J. Lloyd shaped the production, arrangements, and sonic structure.

The record pulls from a wide range of sounds: Fela Kuti's Afrobeat, Brazilian music, soul, disco, and South American rhythms. One of the tracks, "All Day, All Night," features Lydia Kitto on vocals. It's a big shift from the soul-revival sound he first made his name with, and the signing is a chance to get a copy of the new material signed in person.

Waterloo Records is at 1105 North Lamar Blvd in Austin. Bridges will be signing CDs and LPs starting at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, September 29.
