An evening of music and meditation with sounds inspired by the Philippines and Nada yoga, featuring guided yoga nidra and kirtan.
Lee Grane and Sumukhi bring an evening of music and meditation to Casa de Luz on Saturday, August 29. Both are musicians from the Philippines who share a devotion to Naada Yoga, the yoga of music and sound, and the session is organized by Sumukhi Devi.
The evening is split into two distinct parts. The first hour is dedicated to guided yoga nidra, a form of deep relaxation and conscious sleep. The second hour shifts to kirtan and song, with the audience sitting in a circle. Between the two, the night moves from a lying-down meditation into a shared, singing circle.
Lee Grane is a singer-songwriter and ceremonialist whose voice tends toward quieter, more ethereal layers of sound. She's a practitioner of Naada Yoga, an explorer and teacher of the 13 Moon Dreamspell, and trained in the medicine path of the Peruvian Andes tradition. She co-founded Roots of Wisdom and has stewarded a growing community of women's gathering circles for the past decade. In 2013, she was a finalist on The Voice of the Philippines, which made her a global Twitter trending topic that June. Since then, she's performed at the Bali Spirit Festival, the Pistahan Festival in San Francisco, and Fête de la Musique, as well as a private concert for the Prince of Monaco.
