Author Laura De La Cruz reads her bilingual picture book 'Lowrider for Sale' and signs copies at BookPeople.
Laura De La Cruz will be at BookPeople on Saturday, October 10, to read her bilingual picture book Lowrider for Sale and sign copies afterward. It's a short session—10:30 AM to 11:00 AM—so if you're planning to go, you'll want to be there right at the start.
Lowrider for Sale is a bilingual picture book, and the reading is the main event: De La Cruz reads it aloud before the signing. The book centers on lowriders and family, and that same world has been the subject of a YouTube interview titled "Lowriding and Fathers: A Talk with Betsy Bird, Laura De La Cruz and Raul the Third," which you can find if you want more context on the themes she's working with.
If you're already following her, it's worth knowing what's next: her next book, Besos for Mami, is expected in Spring 2028. This is a good chance to catch her in person and get a copy of Lowrider for Sale signed while you're at it.
