A free, family-friendly live music event presented by Dell Children's Medical Center, featuring JareBear and EddieAngel.
KUTX Rock the Park is back at Girard Kinney Park at Mueller this fall, with a new show on Friday, October 23. It's part of a free, family-friendly live music series presented by Dell Children's Medical Center, part of Ascension Seton, and staged at the park's amphitheater. That night, JareBear and EddieAngel take the stage, one of three bills scheduled for the autumn season.
The series is curated by KUTX alongside the station's Sunday-evening kids' show, Spare the Rock, Spoil the Child, and host Ryan Wen writes the weekly newsletter. The organizers lean into the family crowd: free, kid-sized disposable earplugs are handed out at the KUTX tent, supplied by RK Audiology, and ASL interpreters are onsite to translate as much of the performers' content as possible. This autumn season is also billed as part of the 50th Rock the Park show.
October 23 is the middle of the run. The series opened on September 25 with The Avocados and Money Chicha, and it closes on November 6 with A Parent's Project and Almost Heaven. Each night follows the same format: two acts sharing the bill, a free entry, and a family-friendly atmosphere.
