Concert by singer-songwriter Kimmie Rhodes with her band and special guest Gabriel Rhodes.
Kimmie Rhodes plays The Listening Room at Oak Hill United Methodist Church on Friday, September 18, from 7:30 to 9:30 PM. She'll be performing with her band, and Gabriel Rhodes joins her as a special guest.
The venue is the church sanctuary at 7815 US-290, in the Oak Hill neighborhood of West Austin. The Listening Room is presented as a gift to the community and as a way to support local music, and the format is a bit different from a standard club show: the evening is split into two sets with a non-alcoholic social hour in between. It's a good chance to stretch your legs and talk with other people in the room before the second half kicks off.

Rhodes is a singer-songwriter, and this is a full-band bill rather than a solo acoustic set. Gabriel Rhodes, her special guest, is also a musician, so you'll have both of them on stage throughout the night. The show runs from 7:30 to 9:30 PM, with the social hour breaking up the two sets. If you're coming from downtown, it's a bit of a drive out to the 290 corridor, so keep that in mind when you're planning your evening.
