Live stand-up comedy show where aspiring comedians perform one minute of material followed by interviews with hosts Tony Hinchcliffe and Brian Redban.
Kill Tony is on every Monday at 8 PM at Comedy Mothership in downtown Austin. It's a live podcast stand-up comedy variety show created and hosted by Tony Hinchcliffe, with Brian Redban producing and co-hosting. The show premiered on June 3, 2013, and has released a new episode every Monday night since, drawing around 3 million downloads per episode.
The format is simple: aspiring comedians put their names in a bucket for a chance to perform one minute of stand-up in front of a live audience. After their set, Hinchcliffe and Redban interview each one, a process that often turns into a brutal roast. Those who fare well can become regulars. It's a high-stakes room where the interview is as much a part of the show as the comedy itself.
Originally recorded at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles, the show moved to Austin in 2020 and has since become a cornerstone of the city's comedy scene. It's now recorded at Comedy Mothership, Joe Rogan's venue in downtown Austin. The show celebrated its 10-year anniversary in 2023 and signed with Studio71 for distribution in 2024.
