Third annual Halloween party for children with roller skating, games, costume contest and DJ.
Pins & Wheels at Playland is hosting its third annual Kids Halloween Party on Saturday, October 31, from 10 AM to 3 PM. It's a five-hour session, so it's more of a full morning and early afternoon than a quick stop. You'll need tickets to get in, and those tickets include a two-hour game card, which should keep the kids busy between the main activities.
On the day, there's plenty to cycle through: skating, games, a costume contest, and a DJ. The skating happens on wood floors, and the costume contest is the kind of thing that usually becomes the highlight of the morning. With five hours on the clock, there's room to let the kids skate and play without having to rush them out the door by noon.
For a bit of context, Pins & Wheels has been running in Austin since 1974 and calls itself an "Austin Original." It's a family-owned spot that packs a lot under one roof: roller skating on those wood floors, bowling, axe throwing—including the family-friendly Vel-Throw—an arcade, a private karaoke room, and a full-service restaurant and bar. This is the third year they've put on the Halloween party for kids, so it's becoming a regular part of their calendar.
