Kids Create: Frog and Toad Homes

Kids Create: Frog and Toad Homes is coming to the Howson Branch of the Austin Public Library on Tuesday, October 20, from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM. It's a hands-on session for kids to build their own little worlds around the characters from Frog and Toad.

The whole thing is built around the books, so the kids get to make homes for Frog and Toad using mushroom houses, clay figures, and miniature habitats. It's the kind of project where you start with a few materials and end up with a tiny, detailed scene you can actually take home. If you've got a kid who likes to tinker or spend an afternoon building something from scratch, this is exactly that.

There's a bit more to it than just the craft, too. The session is part of the Austin Public Library's Centennial Celebrations, which mark a century of the library serving the community from 1926 to 2026. It's one of many events they're running throughout the year to celebrate that milestone, so this fits into a much larger city-wide celebration of the library system.

It all happens at the Howson Branch, located at 2500 Exposition Blvd. The session runs from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM on Tuesday, October 20.
