Katrina Cain

Katrina Cain plays the East End Ballroom on Friday, July 31, with her full band behind her. It's a hometown show for the Americana-country singer and songwriter, who was born in Dallas and raised across several states before settling here in Austin.

Most people first heard her voice on NBC's The Voice, where she did a cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Rhiannon." Since then, she's moved into her own songwriting. Her 2024 EP Gold introduced her as a storyteller, and the music video for "New Mercedes" has picked up over two million views. That EP serves as a good starting point if you're not yet familiar with her work.

There's a full-length album coming, too. She recorded it in early 2025, and the session players on it read like a who's who of the Nashville and Americana scenes: Matt Hubbard, who's played with Willie Nelson; Philippe Bronchtein, known for his work with Chase Rice; Doug Pettibone, a long-time collaborator of Lucinda Williams; and Andy Rogers, of The Wilder Blue. Chris Bell handled the engineering, and he's worked with The Eagles, Reba, and Jim Lauderdale. With a full band on stage, you'll get to hear that sound live rather than just on record.

The show is at the East End Ballroom, 4715 E 5th St., and it starts at 7:30 PM on Friday, July 31.
