Joyer play Hotel Vegas & The Volstead Lounge on Sunday, October 4. They're an indie rock duo made up of brothers Nick and Shane Sullivan, both multi-instrumentalists. The band formed in New Jersey back in 2017, and after two self-recorded demo collections, they put out their first studio album, Sun Into Flies, in 2020, followed by Perfect Gray in 2021. These days they're based in Brooklyn and Philadelphia.

Their latest album, Night Songs, marks a shift from their hushed slowcore beginnings. It brings in blowtorched shoegaze guitars, poppier vocals, melancholy synths, and pastoral lap steel. Since its release, they've been on several country-wide tours, sharing bills with indie rock acts like Wishy, Feeble Little Horse, Horse Jumper of Love, Lowertown, and Babehoven. This is a headline date, so you'll get the full set from the two of them.

Doors open at 8 PM, and the show runs from 8 PM to midnight. Tickets are $15 in advance, and it's a 21+ show, so bring your ID. The venue is Hotel Vegas & The Volstead Lounge, 1502 E 6th St.
