Concert by Austin-based Americana artist JM Stevens at Antone's at the Airport.
JM Stevens plays Antone's at the Airport on Wednesday, October 21, at 11 AM. It's a mid-morning set at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, so it's as much a stop for people passing through as it is for anyone in the city.
Stevens is an Austin-based Americana artist who spent more than 15 years fronting the city's rock quartet Moonlight Towers before moving toward acoustic guitars and harmonicas. His third solo album, Wish on a River Bridge, came out March 7, 2025. It's a stripped-down collection of ten songs recorded at his own East Austin Recording facility, where he tracked to quarter-inch tape for a vintage sound. That's the record he's been working from lately, and it sits right in that folk-and-country pocket he's carved out since the Moonlight Towers days.
He's earned a fair bit of notice around town. KUTX has called him one of the most reputable singer-songwriters in the Austin music scene today, and Goldmine described him as a master craftsman. The comparisons usually land in the same neighborhood: Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska and Tom Petty's Wildflowers, both records that trade a full band for something more sparse and focused on the song. That's the kind of set you can expect here, tooโjust Stevens, his guitar, and his harmonica.
