Jimmie Dreams & Friends

Jimmie Dreams plays Sam's Town Point on Thursday, September 17, with a bill listed as Jimmie Dreams & Friends. It's a one-night stand in Austin, and the "Friends" part of the title suggests he'll be sharing the stage with a few guests rather than playing a solo set.

If you've followed his work, you know the sound he's built around. He's an Austin artist who's been playing out in the city for a while, and this show brings that material to Sam's Town Point. The set will be centered on his own songs, with the guests filling out the arrangements around him. It's a straightforward night of music: Jimmie Dreams leading the room, with a few other players joining in for the evening.

For those who haven't caught him live, this is a good place to start. He's a local presence here in Austin, and this is one of the dates he's got on the calendar for the fall. The "Friends" element adds a bit of variety to the mix, so you'll get to hear how his songs hold up when he's playing with other musicians instead of on his own.

It's happening on Thursday, September 17, at Sam's Town Point here in Austin. If you're around that night and in the mood for some local music, it's a simple enough plan: Jimmie Dreams and a few guests, one stage, one night.
