Jesse Ruben

Jesse Ruben plays the Holiday Inn Austin-Town Lake on Thursday, September 24, at 7 PM. He's performing as part of the South West Folk Alliance Conference official showcases, which pair regional and national folk, roots, and Americana acts with industry professionals, presenters, and booking managers. Ruben is a Philadelphia singer-songwriter now living in Brooklyn, known for his lyrical storytelling and engaging live shows.

His songs have appeared on more than a dozen TV shows, including Teen Mom, Switched at Birth, The Bachelor (Germany), and the Disney+ series Diary of a Future President. His single "This Is Why I Need You" reached the top 10 in 12 countries and has been streamed more than 45 million times. He's recorded live sessions for NPR and MTV Asia and has been featured on CNN and in Esquire.

Outside of music, Ruben is active in philanthropy. He's run the NYC Marathon three times for The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation and five times to raise money for Lyme disease research. He also founded The We Can Project, an initiative for young students that has engaged more than 500,000 students.
