Jennifer Foster & The Audacity

Jennifer Foster & The Audacity are playing The Continental Club on Tuesday, October 13, starting at 6:30 PM. It's an early evening set on South Congress, and the band holds down the Tuesday night slot there as a residency, so if you've been around the city's soul and funk scene, you've probably seen them in this same room before.

They're an all-original band fronted by vocalist and bassist Jennifer Foster, and they describe their sound as drawing on Motown, funk, R&B and rock greats like Donny Hathaway, Aretha Franklin, The Meters and Chaka Khan. It's a mix of those traditional genres with their own twists, and the tight grooves and polished full-band performance have made them a regular at clubs, festivals and live music venues around town. The Tuesday night residency at the Continental has helped them build a following among the soul and funk crowd in Austin.

Because it's a residency, this isn't a one-off tour date; it's part of the regular Tuesday night lineup they've established at the club. If you're into that Motown and R&B pocket, it's a good way to spend a Tuesday evening without staying out half the night. The show starts at 6:30 PM, and entry is cash at the door.
