J'CUUZI performs live and offers record signing at Waterloo Records.
J'CUUZI are playing an in-store performance and record signing at Waterloo Records on Thursday, July 23, starting at 5:30 PM. It's a small-scale afternoon set, so you'll be hearing them in the store rather than on a stage, with a signing to follow.
If the name doesn't ring a bell, they're an Austin group that dates its inception to February 2024. They've built a reputation on their live shows, which have landed them opening slots for Viagra Boys, Upchuck, Snooper, Haute & Freddy and Warmduscher. That live presence has also caught the city's attention: they've been on the cover of The Austin Chronicle and earned a KUTX Artist of the Month nod.
In July 2025 they released their debut EP, SLUDGEcontent. The lead single came with a drone-shot music video that shows the band performing it live from the back of a moving box truck, which gives you a fair idea of the kind of energy they bring to a room. Depending on who you ask, J'CUUZI is described as a band, a performance art troupe or a fashion house—and they tend to lean into all three at once.
